Is This Email Scam?emaildavidwarner2@yahoo.d鈥?received a letter of Winning prize.?

This is definitely a scam and one which is continually asked on this site. The people who send out these email scams just want to part you from your hard earned cash. They will sometimes ask you to confirm (i.e. call) a premium rate number, where you are kept hanging on the end of the phone for a very long time, they in turn receive a huge chunk of the cash you have clocked up using your phone. Delete these emails, send them into cyberspace where they belong, along with the thieves who are sending them.

You don't get anything for nothing, it's a scam do not answer do not give personal information. Just google scam and see how many hits yoou get, there are millions of them and they are all aimed at taking your money. An excellent site giving advice on how to recognise and avoid scams is at www.rz-berlin.mpg.de/~wm/wm-lotto.html Also If you go to the following link you will get some info on ID theft www.identity-theft.org.uk the iinternet is safe enough if you are careful but please answer nothing that you are doubtful about.Good Luck and be careful.
Reply:General rule of thumb:

(1) does it sound too good to be true?

(2) does it contain unrelated text?

(3) if you click a link, does the link seem to match the product? (example: "get 10 cases mountain dew free -%26gt; does it take you to www.mountaindew.com ?)

(4) do they ask for personal information (bank accounts to "help transfer money")

If you answer yes, yes, no, and yes, then it's a scam!
Reply:Yes so spam it.
Reply:Don't open it. Just delete it you don't open any email from anyone you don't know. Just delete it get rid of it. Its a lie. And alot of those things could hold viruses in them. And if you get a virus just think " Did I open an emial that I don't know?" And thats probably where the virus came from.
Reply:yes It IS I get them all the time they go straight into my spam folder un read
Reply:Yes.
Reply:Remember - the only people who can make you a millionaire for doing nothing are the National Lottery (and even then you have to buy a ticket). Always check on www.snopes.com - you'll find that just about everyone of these emails is a scam and they just keep going round and round the world and turning up in your inbox year after year.
Reply:Seems like all the scammers are useing Yahoo addresses lately. I have had 2 letters in 2 days from Yahoo email accounts. One wants to fly me to south africa so I can open a joint bank account, to make millions... The other was about a dead person who died and willed me millions, also from south africa.

NEVER NEVER FALL FOR THOSE PEOPLE!!
Reply:looks like it
Reply:That's exactly what it is-a phishing scam. Forward the entire fraudulent message to phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com, then delete it after spamming it.
Reply:yea that's a scam, yahoo doesn't randomly email people saying that won something, if u ever need further information on email scams http://scamsbeware.com is a good resource center to help you stay informed, best wishes.
Reply:Yes it is a scam you get nothing for nothing don''t give any details.
